Chef and Owner Raymond Hughes has had an extensive history in the restaurant business. He started out by working in restaurants that his mother had managed in northern New Jersey. He worked himself through the ranks of the industry. He is a self taught chef who creates delicious dinners for all to savor. He had owned and operated a small Italian restaurant in Forked River before he opened Raimondo's with his wife Lisa.
In October of 1991 Ray and Lisa were looking for a spot to open their own restaurant. They found a property on Long Beach Island that was perfect . It was convenient to the mainland and centrally located.
December of 1991 their dream was realized and they opened Raimondo's ! They created quite a buzz among the island community opening in the middle of the winter. The island has not been the same since. Twenty years later and Ray and Lisa are still serving the Long Beach Island and Mainland communities.
